Replanting initiative
At Royal Polak Spices, we are dedicated to ensuring the sustainable future of cinnamon through our replanting programme in Kerinci, Indonesia. For every cassia tree harvested there in order to answer our demand, we make sure a new tree is planted.
Local Partners
Working closely with local partners, we provide Cassia seedlings to farmers, who cultivate the trees on their own land. Beyond replanting, the initiative includes training in sustainable harvesting practices, modern farming techniques, soil management education, and the promotion of multi-cropping. These efforts not only protect the environment, but also help farmers achieve a sustainable and diversified income, fostering long-term prosperity for local communities.
Benefits of the Royal Polak Spices replanting programme
- Secure Cassia Cinnamon supply for the future
- Improve livelihood of local farmers
- Increased pay for local farmers
- Local farmers are less dependent on other crops
- CO2 compensation
- Improved animal welfare due to reforestation
