Taste Chunks × food trends: reinventing autumn with flavour
In our own bakery, we’re busy experimenting. With textures, unexpected flavour pairings, and ideas that align perfectly with the 2025 food trends. Think: culinary mash-ups, bold flavours, surprising bites and a renewed love for the classics. Consumers today want surprise – but also something familiar. The retail market responds to this by putting a twist on existing products, or by blending two into something entirely new. Innovations like the cronut and the crookie have opened the door to a world where nostalgia meets novelty. But… step aside, cronut! Royal Polak Spices presents: the Macarookie.
Get ready for the wow effect
The Macarookie is a mash-up between an American-style cookie and a classic French macaron. Two super-soft cookie layers, filled with a silky-smooth piña colada crème. And that’s not all. Our Cinnamon Taste Chunks add an extra flavour dimension. The creamy, tropical filling and soft, chewy cookie dough are perfectly complemented by tiny bursts of cinnamon – delivering surprise, contrast, and depth. The wow effect? Guaranteed.
Taste Chunks add an unexpected yet welcome twist that takes the flavour to the next level. The Macarookie taps into everything today’s consumers crave: tradition, innovation, surprise, layered flavour and bite.
“In every recipe, we look for the balance between comfort and creativity,” says product developer Femke Scholtmeijer, who tests new applications daily in our bakery. “Taste Chunks bring that unexpected element – a little extra flavour sensation.”
Autumn favourites, reimagined for 2025
Alongside the Macarookie, we’re working on other autumnal creations – like light, fluffy pumpkin spice muffins, baked with our special pumpkin spice blend and Cinnamon Taste Chunks for that extra punch. Familiar, but with a twist.
